The Crescent City Brewhouse was a real
find on our trip to New Orleans. The
Brewhouse is located in one of the very oldest buildings in New Orleans
and has been brewing fine
German style ales since 1991, using simply water, malt, hops and yeast....
and they proudly state that no chemicals or stabilisers are used. So,
this really is top quality, fresh beer at its very best. For any beer
lovers, you simply have to try the Red Stallion which was my personal
favourite, although their other beers will also appeal
to differing tastes. The Black Forest also comes very highly recommended.
Some magical
things also come from their kitchens too and the food here is superb
as you find in most New Orleans restaurants. Don't forget to check
out the Oyster bar too. They often have a band playing in the entrance,
but don't forget to tip on your way out. Get there at 17:00 for their
two hour "Happy Hour" where all the beer is half price. This is something
not to be missed. It's close to the Steamboat Natchez and just over
the road from the Hard Rock Cafe, so you can't miss it. There is also
a balcony upstairs for diners if you get there early enough. This is
a great place to eat and watch the world go by. Tell them Oslopubs
sent you !
