Brewerkz was a real gem of a find and most unexpected. This must rank as one of the best brew pubs I have ever been to. Their range of ales (see the pic below) was superb and the quality was really something else. The IPA and the Oatmeal Stout come very highly recommended. Buying a pitcher will be slightly cheaper, but doesn't give you the flexibility to try their many ales, unless you plan to come back often. In fact, the beer here is so good that they have won several awards and were voted the best new bar in Singapore in '97, the year in which they opened. When the weather is good, as it usually is, it's great to sit outside and watch the world go by. The location is perfect and right on the banks of the Singapore river. What better way to spend a day than sitting in the sun with great beer in an awesome location. It does not get much better than this. For the sports enthusiasts, you can indeed sit inside the bar too and many major sporting events will be shown here. The food deserves a mention too, which is of excellent quality and quite inexpensive. If you want to take away a souvenir, there's a collection of reasonably priced glasses and bar towels. If you want to take out a second mortgage, you could pick up a Brewerkz rugby shirt too. This place is actually so good that I feel like I should post some sort of public warning here. For any women who might be reading this and planning a trip to Singapore with their other half... don't bring him here, because he might never want to leave and your holiday will be completely ruined. Hey... he might never want to come home with you ever again ! You have been warned :-)
